CII summit brings industries to Nellore

Nellore: The city seems to be the big beneficiary after CII partnership summit held in Vizag in January 2016 as out of 50 projected industries, 20 have been grounded and 30 others are in various stages.

Not only major industries like Bharat Forge, industries of medium range such as Penna Cements at Krishnapatnam Port, Brakes India, Allegro Speciality Chemicals, LNG Bharat and others are coming up.

Officials say the Single Desk Portal has given 58 industrial related clearances in 21 days for setting up  business units. The district had received 50 such proposals for setting industrial units in the district with investments of Rs. 29,922 crore that can generate employment for about 41,000 people.

Out of 50 projected industries, 20 have already been grounded with committed investment of Rs. 11,087 crore, 11 other industries are under construction stage,  17 industrial units are getting ready for civil works and  2 units have dropped their proposals.

Penna Cement Industries located in Krishnapatnam Port area that started with Rs. 250 crore , expansion works of Apache Footwear India Private Limited with Rs. 30 crore, ferro castings industry of TVS Group, Brakes India Private Limited, with Rs. 125 crore have started production recently. Allegro Speciality Chemicals Private Limited planned to produce chemicals and petro-chemicals is getting ready for production shortly.

Projects such as Aurobindo Pharma at Menakur SEZ that produces bulk drugs, Tyche Cast Tech Private Limited at Mambattu, planned to produce aluminium castings, are under trail production stage, according to officials.

“We are unable to manage enquiries for setting up new industrial units in the district. But, the problem comes with timely handing over of land without any ground difficulties. Still, we are providing lands on time to the entrepreneurs who come forward to set up industrial units. There would be lots of avenues to the jobseekers in the district in future,” said B Srinivasa Rao, General Manager, District Industries Centre.

Works of Nekkanti Mega Food Park at Kothapatnam in Chillakur mandal, GRI Power Gear Towers India Limited, Reddson Seamles Pipes Private Limited, Tata Chemicals at Mambattu, second unit of Tarakeswara Textile Park Private Limited, LNG Bharat Private Limited, and others are in progress, he added. Multi model Logistics Park being promoted by the Container Corporation of India, Delta Bio Pharma Pvt Limited, Hindustan Coco Cola, Bhavya Cements, are under civil works stage.

Further, Kribhco which initially planned its fertilizer complex with Rs. 1,800 Cr in Venkatachalam mandal shifted it unit inside Krishnapatnam Port area for easy handling operations. Around 100 acres have been reserved for FSME at Amancherla for the MSME multiple industrial park, he added.
