Vishwa Hindu Parishad conducts Varalakshmi Vratham in Ongole

Ongole: The Prakasam district unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad conducted Varalakshmi Vratham at the Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Temple in Gandhi Road and Sri Gayatri Mandiram in Mangamuru Road of Ongole on Friday.

The VHP Prachara Pramukh, Radha Ramana Gupta Jandhyam said that to strengthen Hindu culture and traditions and to establish caste-free and spiritual ambiance in each Hindu family, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad conducted the Varalakshmi Vratham at two locations in the town. 

He said that 108 women offered pooja at the Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Temple in the Gandhi Road and Sri Gayatri Mandiram in Mangamuru Road as it was the third Sravana Sukravaram, the auspicious day in the week and the priests Prasanna Kumar and Suryanarayana Sastry performed it with by reciting the hymns. 

He said that Prasanna Kumar explained the women about the importance of Varalakshmi Vratham and Gomatha with examples from the sacred texts.

The VHP district president, Tunugunta Mallikharjuna Rao, secretary Nune Ramanjaneyulu, Ongole town honorary president Kunduru Ramana Reddy, president Kanigerlapudi Venkata Rao, secretary Pandarapoyina Punnarao and others also participated in the programme.
