182 crore works completed in Nellore: Minister P Narayana

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that they had completed development works worth Rs 182 crore in all divisions in Nellore municipal corporation limits from the grants released since 2014.

Speaking to media at his camp office after inaugurating a bypass road at Kodurupadu in Nellore constituency here on Saturday, he said that they were renovating municipal parks in the city besides providing basic amenities at burial grounds. 

Construction of compound walls to all schools in the city were being taken up and planning to lay CC roads with Rs 120 crore under SC sub-plan funds in corporation limits. 

“We will complete development works with Rs 60 crore in the city,” said the Minister.

Further, the minister visited Pinakini Satyagraha Ashram located in Pallipadu village in Indukurpeta mandal and garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and Ponaka Kanakamma in the premises. 

The minister said that Mahatma Gandhi had inaugurated the Ashram on April 7, 1921 and added D Hanumantha Rao and Krishnamma were attracted by the speeches of Mahatma Gandhi and founded the Ashram.
