Anti-Corruption Bureau raids MVI’s residences, unearths property worth Rs 8 crore

Tirupati: The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths have conducted raids on Renigunta Transport check-post   Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) P Vijaya Bhaskar’s house and his relatives’ houses simultaneously on Saturday. According to ACB Tirupati range officials, P Vijaya Bhaskar, S/o Subbarayudu, 51 years, Motor Vehicle Inspector, RTA check-post, Renigunta, Chittoor District residing at D No.1-6, Srinivasapuram,Padmavatipuram,Tirupati was nabbed by them on the charges of disproportionate assets.

The ACB officials have conducted simultaneous searches from 8 am at the MVI’s houses and also at his relatives’ houses. Altogether, raids were conducted at the main house in Tirupati and 14 other places in Tirupati, Chandragiri, Anantapur, Bengaluru and Chennai.  These searches are being continued up to 5 in the evening. Many documents pertaining to properties, cash and other valuable ornaments were seized by the ACB sleuths.  

The total value of the properties identified is not yet estimated. The Immovable properties found are worth Rs 4.5 crore of registration value  and movable properties including FDs,Bank balance, gold etc, calculated worth Rs 3.5 crore. Total Assets found so far is Rs 8 crore. Two lockers are yet to be opened.
