2 die as mini-van hits parked lorry

Visakhapatnam: Two persons were killed on the spot and another three sustained injuries in a road accident took place on National Highway-16 near Purushothapuram village of Yalamanchili mandal in Visakhapatnam district on Sunday.

According to Yelamanchili Sub-Inspector D Ramu, the mishap took place in the wee hours when a 14-seater mini-van going to Hyderabad after attending a function in Visakhapatnam on Saturday night. While on return journey to Hyderabad, the mini-van hit a parked lorry near Purushothapuram.

The victims were identified as Ch Jairam,32 and Gouse Sourab,28 and the bodies were shifted to NTR hospital in Anakapalle. J Sateesh, a native of Eluru, B Paul and P Saidhar, natives of Kolkatta sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to Apollo hospital for better treatment.
