Woman tries to kill 3 children; boy succumbs
Singarayakonda (Prakasam district): A woman, said to be mentally unstable, tried to kill her three children by pouring phenol in their mouths and throttling them to death. Her neighbours, who witnessed the act, shifted the children to the hospital but able to save only two of them.
According to the Kandukur CI K Venkateswara Rao, a couple Tupili Sudhakar and Adilakshmi have, residents of Chakicharla of Ulavapadu mandal, have three sons aged 6 years, 3 years and two.
On Saturday, Sudhakar, a fisherman, went to fishing in the sea and Adilakshmi was in home. In the evening, she brought the children playing outside into the home, poured phenol in the mouths of the three children and started to strangle them with hands. However, the neighbours who suspected some thing, went into the house and found children lying in unconscious.
They shifted the kids to a hospital in Kavali where doctors declared Adhipati, 3, brought dead. The remaining two children were admitted to government hospital in Nellore.
