Observe hygiene to control dengue, malaria: Collector
Visakhapatnam: After directing the officials, collector Pravin Kumar directly swung into action to inspect the ground level realities of the viral fevers particularly the dengue and malaria in the district.
After directing the village, mandal and district level officials, the collector on Sunday walked into the villages in Kotavuratla mandal of Narsipatnam constituency and inspected the health centres to get direct feedback from the villagers.
During his day long visits, the collector interacted with the fever patients and enquired about the medical aid being provided to them. The collector also enquired about the presence of the medical officers, nurses and other staff at the hospitals. He also enquired about the process of treatment and other screening test results of the patients.
Later, the collector visited the villages and inspected the sanitation works. Pravin Kumar directed the staff of Panchayat Raj department not to neglect the sanitation works and warned them of severe action if the fevers did not come down in the villages.
While visiting Pamulawaka village of Nathavaram mandal, the collector interacted with the villagers and stressed the need to maintain the cleanliness and personal hygiene in villages. Though the government is taking all the necessary steps to control the fevers, unless the people should pay the attention and cooperation, there would not be any change in the villages, the collector informed to the locals.
Later, the collector convened a review meeting on health and sanitation with officials of Narsipatnam. All the nodal officials, MPDOs, Tahsildars, Municipal Commissioner of Narsipatnam and RDO were present in the meeting.
