People in parts of Tirupati get impure water

Tirupati: For more than a month, people living in western part of temple town are getting muddy and impure water due to casual  attitude of personnel in Municipal Corporation of Tirupati.  Public living in significant part of Tirupati are facing health problems due to supply of coloured water. 

Already The Hans India has published about the issue two weeks ago. Officials have tried to set right the situation, but polluted water supply problem was not rectified completely. On Monday also residents of LS Nagar, Prakasham quarters, Veterinary College hostels, SV University, Balaji Colony and other areas received polluted water.

In the mean while civic body officials have taken measures to address the problem and improve water filtering process at  Kalyan Dam water filter house. MCT water works department called the experts from Neeru institute, Nagpur. The technical experts of Nagpur had given their suggestions to the MCT engineering department.  Accordingly, MCT engineering department has enhanced the quantity of alum, chlorine and gases for purifying water at filter houses. 

Maintenance Engineer SK Jani speaking to The Hans India said, ``we have recognised the problem and were trying to sort out it. We received complaint from LS Nagar residents over the colour water supply, we are seriously trying to sort out as early as possible. Our MCT water works department is supplying purified water from the Kalyanidam," he said.
