Centre, YSR Congress flayed for criticising Amaravati Bonds
Amaravati: Municipal administration minister P Narayana said that it was not correct on the part of the Centre, which didn't release funds for the construction of the capital city, to criticise mobilisation of funds through issuing Amaravati Bonds.
After visiting the construction works of staff quarters here on Wednesday, Narayana said that the Centre and YSR Congress were creating hurdles to the construction of the capital city. The state government has plans to repay money to investors without mounting any burden on people, he said.
He said that the government would spend Rs 48,000 crore collecting from various sources for the construction of Amaravati. The minister said that the construction of High Court building and roads would be completed by December 31. He hoped that the vehicles would be allowed on Amaravati roads by December.
The works of Amaravati capital were going on at a brisk pace, he said and asked the Opposition parties to see developments before criticising the government.
Stating that the Centre had given only Rs 1,500 crore thus far, he asked as to how the capital city could be constructed with those paltry sum. He pointed out that the Centre was spending Rs 2,500 crore for Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel statue in Gujarat.
