ISRO to launch 49 satellites in 3 years

Nellore: India’s space agency Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is aiming to launch a total of 49 satellites in the upcoming three years, said ISRO Chairman Dr K Sivan. He formally inaugurated an Indore Sports Stadium at Pulicat Nagar in Sullurpet town on Tuesday which was built at a cost of Rs 2.6 crore.

He also indicated the ISRO would also launch a total of 19 missions in the next couple of months. The ISRO chief visited the township and participated during second phase of sports being conducted for the employees. He participated in a review with scientists at SHAR, Sriharikota on the launching arrangements for the PSLV C-42. 

Further, SHAR Director S Pandyan, interacting with the media, said that there would be four launches from the ISRO this year. C-42 would be launched this month along with two foreign payloads.

He informed that launching of Chandrayaan–2 would be a complex operation and they were preparing for more launches every year. He also said second Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) is getting ready. The sports would continue till September 6. Shar Controller JV Raja Reddy and other senior scientists were present.
