Chandrababu Naidu vows filling of teacher posts

Amaravati: Vacant posts of teachers in the schools and colleges in the State will be filled very soon, announced Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Teachers Day celebrations held at Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Wednesday. 

He said that he had great respect for teachers since they only could turn the State into a knowledge hub. He said that he aimed to make the State a knowledge hub and efforts were being made to achieve the objective.  Education alone could address many social problems, the Chief Minister pointed out.

He promised that by 2022, every government school and college will have own building. Compound walls will be constructed to all the schools utilising the funds available under MGNREGA. 

He suggested to the teachers to spend some time with the nature to reduce stress. The State achieved third rank in education among all the States in the country, Naidu pointed out and added that it achieved significant progress since 2014. 

The Chief Minister called for measures to bring down school dropouts. Naidu paid rich tributes to former President S Radhakrishnan on the occasion and recalled the significant contribution he made to the field of education. He pointed out that the Teachers’ Day is being celebrated on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the State government had spent more than Rs 25,000 crore on education during the last four-and-half years. He pointed out that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was constantly learning new things like a student and providing inspiration to many students in the State.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu appreciated badminton star P V Sindhu, who attended the Teacher’s Day celebrations as a guest. He hoped that Sindhu would win Olympic gold medal. Chandrababu Naidu suggested to the teachers to motivate the students by explaining the achievements of P V Sindhu.

Sindhu said that she secured several medals following the guidance by her ‘Gurus’. She added that her parents were her first Gurus and her coaches were here second Gurus. Ministers P Pullarao, Nakka Ananda Babu and others were present.
