Cops pay tributes to martyrs on Indo-Tibet border

Vijayawada: Superintendent of Police R Jaya Lakshmi, IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh, has successfully completed the 60th annual visit of All India Police Party to Hot Springs, Ladakh, Indo-Tibet border, from August 25 to September 5, to pay homage to the martyrs in Ladakh. She led the 23-member contingent of police officers to pay the tributes. 

Every year, brave Indian police officers visit the venue and pay respects to the martyrs, who lost their lives in Chinese ambush on October 20, 1959. 

Hot Springs is located in North Eastern India on Indo-Tibet border above height of 16,000 sea level. Police Commemoration Day is observed in the country since that event occurred 60 years ago. 

R Jaya Lakshmi led the 23 officers, who include 10 IPS officers, one RPF officer, seven gazette officers and five NGOs from across the country.  DGP R P Thakur congratulated the IPS officer on her achievement.
