Take immediate steps to control dengue, viral fevers, officials told
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed Health and Medical Department officials to identify the problematic areas where viral fevers were recorded in high number during the last couple of years.
He said that based on the information they could prevent spread of the diseases. Chandrababu Naidu expressed concern over spread of seasonal diseases and warned officials that no fresh case of dengue or malaria should be reported.
He said the spread of diseases should be curbed immediately on a war footing. He warned the 108 service providers of serious action if they failed to improve their services.
He said officials should create confidence among the people by arresting the spread of seasonal diseases and improve satisfaction level of people on health sector. The Chief Minister said that 100 per cent foolproof measures should be taken and the diseases should be controlled totally.
He asked the officials why there was spread of dengue in Visakhapatnam district and instructed them to identify the reasons. He stressed the need for awareness on cleanliness among residents to protect public health. He said officials should act on a war-footing to control the diseases.
The officials informed that to check the diseases, the Visakha Municipal Corporation launched the vector control measures. They also revealed that 130 teams consisting of 647 persons have been conducting door-to-door survey.
In all, 72 sanitary inspectors were on the job to ensure maintenance of proper sanitation. The officials also said that the municipal corporation was carrying out fogging operations to curb the mosquito menace.
