Three-day training on Disaster Management gets underway
Visakhapatnam: A three-day training programme on ‘Disaster Management and First Aid to the undergraduates got underway here on Friday. The certificate course will be held from September 7 to 9 at Mrs AVN College.
Addressing the students, Col DVLNSS Raju, Commanding officer of 13 Andhra battalion NCC, said that students should avail this opportunity as it will be of great help for them in future. The certificate programme will help to provide knowledge and create awareness among the students, how to react during natural calamities and save the people.
DVRK Raju, Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Visakhapatnam, underscored the need for awareness and further stated that Red Cross will extend their support. Murthy, Manager In-charge of Youth Service, said that youth should be ready to help the nation at the time of natural calamities.
D Vijayaprakash, principal, urged the students to give a helping hand to the nation during natural calamities. Dr Ramakrishna, course coordinator, gave details of the three-day training schedule. Resource persons of the programme and 43 NCC cadets of 13 Andhra Battalion were present.
