150 Gandhi statues to be unveiled in a day says Gandhi Memorial Trust representatives

Srikakulam: In all, 150 Mahatma Gandhi statues will be unveiled in a day across the district simultaneously on September 26, according to Gandhi Memorial Trust (GMT) representatives. 

The GMT members and representatives of NGOs formed as Organising Committee and decided to unveil 150 statues simultaneously. 

Addressing the media here on Saturday, committee convener Prof Gunta Thulasi Rao explained that this is for the first time in the country 150 statues of Gandhi will be unveiled in a day.
 
All the 150 statues will be provided by PVS Rammohan Foundation Chairman P Rammohan. 

The committee convener, who is also principal of Arts and Law College of BR Ambedkar University (BRAU) said that BRAU will start two diploma courses on Gandhian philosophy and signed an MoU with GMT recently. 

GMT representative M Prasada Rao, academician Dr J Bhimasankar Rao, programme convener Surangi Mohan Rao and organiser MVS Sastry said that the aim of the activity is to create awareness among youth on Gandhian ideology and year-long activities will be conducted across the district from October 2 to October 2, 2019 and all the 150 statues would be installed at different places across the district. 

Representatives of various NGOs B Malleswara Rao, Natukula Mohan, D Govinda Rao and others also spoke.
