Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu cautions officials against spread of dengue, malaria

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu warned the Visakhapatnam officials to ensure dengue and malaria free city, otherwise he would visit the city and spend more than one week to monitor the situation locally. He asked all the officials to ensure cleanliness in urban and rural areas to prevent diseases spread by mosquitoes. Naidu held a review meeting and teleconference with officials at his residence at Undavalli on Saturday.

Reacting to the reports on the rise in dengue and malaria cases in the State, Chandrababu Naidu said that the officials must focus on each ward as a unit in all urban areas and each village as a unit in rural areas. The Chief Minister warned that he will take serious action if the officials fail to prevent the spread of diseases. The Chief Minister has been directly taking feedback from the public on the government services and based on their response he is questioning the officials.

For instance, the CMO is taking feedback on the 108 ambulance services, if the government is providing proper treatment to dengue and malaria, on the cleanliness around houses and other issues. Chandrababu Naidu pointed out that the public satisfaction level recorded was lower on Friday when compared to Thursday. He said that he would not tolerate inefficiency in delivering public services at the hour of need and crisis periods.

Referring to dengue and malaria cases, he said that Visakhapatnam is the most affected city among all the urban areas in the State. Chandrababu Naidu said that if the officials fail to reduce the number of dengue and malaria cases and control their spread, then he will proceed to the city and spend more than a week there. He said that he would monitor government services like what he did during the Hudhud cyclone. During the meeting, he also interacted with District Collectors, other officials and MLAs through a teleconference.
