Three bodies found floating in Nizampatnam Canal at Kuchipudi

Guntur: Police found three bodies, including two women and one man, floating in the water in Nizamptnam canal at Kuchipudi locks in Amrathalur mandal in the district on Saturday. 

Due to overflow of water in the canal, the bodies were floating in the water and stopped at Nizampatnam locks. 

The locals noticed the bodies and informed the police about the bodies, who in turn reached the spot, and retrieved the bodies and sent to the Government General Hospital in Tenali for post-mortem. 

Police suspected that they might have fallen into the canal five or six days ago near Vijayawada. Speaking to The Hans India, Tenali DSP M Snehita said: "We registered a case under the 174 of IPC as suspicious deaths. 

We cannot say whether they accidentally fell into the canal or committed suicide by jumping into the canal or somebody murdered them by pushing them into the canal. Details can be ascertained only after the investigation”.
