AP Government to reduce petrol and diesel cess
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu reportedly decided to give relief to the citizens by reducing the Value Added Tax (VAT) on diesel and petrol in the State.
Since the public suffering due to steep raise of petrol and staging protests across the State on Monday, the Chief Minister has decided to reduce the VAT on it.
Chandrababu Naidu is discussing on the issue with the higher officials at his chamber in Assembly. Chandrababu Naidu likely to announce the decision shortly in the Assembly today.
There is Rs 4 VAT on both Petrol and diesel, imposed by the State government. This is additional to the regular taxes. But, it is still unclear on how much burden will be reduced.
Since the Central Government is not responding on petrol prices, Chandrababu Naidu is doing exercise to give relief to public, according to sources.
