Free distribution of artificial limbs on Nov 17 in Visakhapatnam
Rajamahendravaram: All India Agarwal Sammelan state president Chandmal Agarwal has said that the sammelan in association with Andhra Pradesh Rajasthan Samskruthika Mandali will be organising a free artificial limb and calipers distribution programme in Visakhapatnam on November 17.
Disclosing the details at a press conference held in Press Club here on Sunday, he said Uttarandhra Journalist Front, Mahaveer Seva Sadan, Greater Visakapatnam Municipal Corporation, Disabled Welfare
department and Prem Hospitals are also joining in this programme.
The disabled persons of Srikakulam, Vizinagaram, Visakhpatnam and East Godavari districts are eligible to get artificial limbs and calipers in this programmme.
As part of this programme, on September 28 and 29, registration and check up programme will be held in Visakhpatnam, on September 30
in Anam Rotary hall in Rajamahendraavaram, on October 1st in Vanavasi Kalyana Mandapam in Paderu, on October 2 in Vignan Bharathi School in Araku, on November 3 in municipal corporation office in Srikakulam, and on October 4 in Toshi Nivasi Bhavan in Vizianagaram.
After getting the details of disabled, artificial limbs and calipers will be manufactured in Visakhapatnam from November 10 to 16 as per the measurements. Later, on November 17, artificial limbs will be given freely to the beneficiaries.
Uttarandhra Journalist Front general secretary N Nageswara Rao said the organizers will provide free meals along with breakfast and also gives accommodation, if necessary.
For poor beneficiaries the organisers gives travel fares also. The organizers are thinking to extend the facility to nearly 500 disabled in the three districts.
Dr Neelima Agarwal, Rajastan Samskruthika Mandali representative Ashok Kumar Singhania and others were present. Later, they released a poster in this regard.
