Submarine museum to come up in Vizag

Amaravati: In a bid to place another tourist destination at Visakhapatnam, the state government planned to establish a Submarine Heritage Museum in the city with the help of Indian Navy.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the Tourism department officials to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) on it. He said that state government is determined to promote tourism.

Commander in Chief of Navy, Vice-Admiral Karanbir Singh met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his chamber in Assembly on Monday.The Chief Minister made the announcement while discussing on the establishment of the Museum with the Vice-Admiral.  

The Navy officials requested Chandrababu Naidu to reduce the land prices and they were ready to purchase land at Bhimili for INS Kalinga. They also explained that they will establish the navel armament depot at Vizianagaram and requested for land.

Reacting to that, the Chief Minister suggested the Navy officials to find suitable land at Rambilli. Chandrababu Naidu observed that some of the workers at Dock Yard have been demanding hike in their wages. He assured that he will put a resolution in Assembly and will send it to the central government, since this is central government’s subject.

On this occasion, Chandrababu Naidu asked the officials to ensure safety of the sea coast while discharging industrial effluents. He said that there was an urgent need to reduce industrial pollution at Visakhapatnam Harbour and Dock Yard.
