Stakeholders hailed for refitting ships

Visakhapatnam: Indian Navy’s Mid-Year Refit Review (MYRR) and Mid-Year Infrastructure Review (MYIR) conference was inaugurated at Eastern Naval Command (ENC) here on Tuesday. The two-day conference was held at Swarna Jyoti conference hall chaired by Vice-Admiral GS Pabby, Chief of Materiel, Integrated Headquarters Ministry of Defence (Navy).  

The MYRR reviews the progress of refits of ships and submarines of ENC and Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC), the Tri-Services Command at Port Blair.  The conference was attended by all the stake-holders representing the naval headquarters, dockyards, repair yards and material organisations of ENC and ANC.

Delivering the keynote address during the inaugural session, GS Pabby complimented the performance of all stakeholders in refitting the ships and submarines. He lauded the progress made on all the technological aspects of machinery, hull, weapon, and sensors and emphasised the improvement in synergising the refitting and logistic functions for timely completion of refits for ensuring combat ready platforms. 

Mid-Year Infrastructure Review meeting will be held on Wednesday to review the progress of various infrastructure projects on the Eastern Seaboard and in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
