Stress on petty issues forces students to end life says psychiatrist RK Ayodhya in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: “For every problem in life, death is not the only solution. One among three youth who die are due to suicide in the country,” said psychiatrist RK Ayodhya.
He was the chief guest at a programme organised at KBN College jointly by ‘National Service Award Unit’ and ‘Youth Red Cross Unit’ to mark ‘World Suicide Prevention Day’ on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Ayodhya said that the present generation were subjected to mental stress for petty issues and to overcome the stress they were resorting to suicides.
For every 30 seconds, one youth was committing suicide across the world which reflects the intensity, he said and added that everyone should try to overcome problems without resorting such extreme steps.
The college principal Dr V Narayana Rao said that 65 percent of the population who were youth in the country were ending their life for petty issues due to lack of confidence and will power.
