Art and Craft Exhibition begins at Maris Stella College in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The Social Work department of Maris Stella College commenced a two-day state-level Art and Craft Exhibition here on Friday. 

The exhibition cum sale was inaugurated by Dr Sr Jasintha Quadras, principal.

Speaking on the occasion, she stressed on the importance of social activities to help the poor and the needy.  

She suggested the students to undertake any activity with passion. Then only they can succeed in any field, she added.

The chief guest of the day, L Shiv Sankar, former district governor, Lions Club explained the various opportunities that were available to youth. 

The youth should have urge to serve society and they should transform the knowledge with others which can help them to build a great nation. 

Dr Sr Lovely Jacob, Head of Department of Social Work was the coordinator of the programme. 

She said that for the last 17 years, the department was organising such programmes for the children with special needs like childline, NGOs, Sai Prema, Navjeevan Balabhavan, Aamodini, Madonna SKCV, JMJ, Tenali who prepared various items like handbags, decorative articles, kondapalli toys etc were exhibited.
