Bonsai expo begins from September 15 and 16 in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Amaravati Bonsai Society (ABS), Vijayawada would organise a two-day Bonsai exhibition-cum- workshop at Railway Officers Function hall here on September 15 and 16. 

Announcing this here on Friday, the ABS president, Amrita Kumar said that Bonsai was a Japanese art form using cultivation techniques to produce small trees. 

This technique was over 1,000-year- old which brings nature to your homes, she said.

She said that this exhibition would be the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh. 

It would be inaugurated by Water Resources Management Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and the guest of honour would be Capital City Development and Management Corporation MD Lakshmi Parthasarathi.

The special invitees would be VMC Mayor Koneru Sreedhar and AP Horticulture secretary Chiranjeev Choudhary. 

About 100 varieties of Bonsai plants would be displayed at the exhibition and demo class would be organised from 2 pm to 4 pm on both the days. 

Vice-president Yerneni Padmaja, secretary Patti Naga Lakshmi, joint secretary Gamini Venkata Suneetha, treasurer Durga Sowjanya Kancherla, Dr Keerti and others were present.
