Engineers Day celebrated at QIS Engg College in Ongole
Ongole: The students of QIS Engineering Colleges and their management celebrated the Engineers Day to mark the 157th birth anniversary of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya on Saturday.
QIS Educational Institutions secretary and correspondent of QIS Engineering Colleges Nidamanuri Surya Kalyan Chakravarthy and president of Nidamanuri Educational Trust Nidamanuri Nageswara Rao said that the CE, EEE, ECE, CSE and ME students from the QIS College of Engineering and Technology, QIS Institute of Technology participated in various competitions held as a part of the Engineers Day.
They said the ECE students of QISCET organised a project expo and explained the background and functionality of their projects.
Surya Kalyan Chakravarthy said that Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya and Arthur Cotton created marvels by utilising limited resources available to them at that time with the creative engineering techniques and became great engineers.
He said that Visvesvaraya had built many landmarks with his commitment towards the country and he had asked every engineer to draw inspiration from him.
He asked the engineering students to be learners always to know the advance technologies being introduced from time to time and use the knowledge in building the nation.
In the various programmes held in different departments as a part of the Engineers Day, the QIS Engineering Colleges general manager T Shanthraj Davay, QISCET principal Dr Kilari Veeraswamy, QISIT principal Dr CV Subba Rao, HoDs of various departments, staff and students also participated.
