Two women killed, 3 hurt as RTC bus hits car

Visakhapatnam: Two persons, a woman and her mother-in-law, were killed when an RTC bus collided head on with a car in which they were travelling to Bheemili in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.  Three others who were injured in the accident  were admitted to a private hospital at Madhurawada. The deceased were identified as B Gayatri (30) and her mother-in-law B Shyamala Devi (67). 

According to police, five members of two families of Seethammadhara area in Visakhapatnam city were heading towards Bheemili in the car to visit their newly purchased plots. When the car was proceeding towards Bheemili road from NH-16 stretch at the cross roads, an APSRTC bus (Vizianagaram-Vizag non-stop service) coming from another lane of the NH-16 stretch hit the car. Due to the impact of the collision, the front portion of the car was crushed and two persons among the five travelling in the car died on the spot. 

The police shifted the injured B Rajarao, K Sivaji Varma and K Umadevi who got stuck inside the mangled remains of the car to a private hospital. Anandapuram police registered a case and further investigation is on.
