Ashok Gajapati willing to contest in Lok Sabha polls
Amaravati: Former Union minister and TDP MP Ashok Gajapati Raju said that he would like to contest again to the Lok Sabha, if the party gives chance to him. During an informal interaction with journalists on Monday at Assembly, he said that he would not give any suggestion to his daughter Adhithi Vijayalakshmi about her political entry.
Reacting on the YSRCP's absence to the Assembly sessions, he said that they ran away from the House instead of raising people’s problems. He said that if he was in Opposition, then he might fight against the government on behalf of public. The voters gave mandate to YSRCP to raise voice on behalf of them in the Assembly, but they did not do justice, he added.
While reacting on the failures of BJP in implementing the AP Reorganisation Act, Ashok Gajapati Raju said that public gave good majority to the BJP during 2014, but they lost confidence of people across the country, and not only in AP. The former Minister said that he developed the Aviation sector in a commendable manner. More than 80 Airports across the country were developed when he was minister for Aviation.
He added that if the Central government extends support for building infrastructure in the state, then they could tap huge business in this sector. The Bhogapuram Aiport could be developed, but the central government was not taking it seriously. He further added that the Kadapa airport, which was built by himself, is performing well.
