CFTI offers job-oriented courses
Vijayawada: Central Footwear Training Institute (CFTI), a premier training institute in footwear technology under the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMS) is offering about seven long-term and eight short-term courses in footwear technology at its Chennai campus, said K Murali, Director, CFTI.
Addressing the media here on Monday, Murali said that this programme would provide various self-employment, job oriented courses under MSME using modern technology and the best qualified faculty. He said the courses are meant for all levels of education from Class X, Plus 2, Graduation and even Class VIII.
Emphasising that ‘India is the second largest footwear manufacturer in the world next only to China, he added that the market oriented trained technicians in the industry have high employment potential, with the ever expanding footwear industry in the country, which is in need of more and more skilled workers to meet manufacturing demands.
Murali said that almost all the trained candidates from CFTI are totally employed and most of the leading manufacturers are offering placements by conducting campus interviews. Short term courses were also offered through state government sponsorship, he added.
