Cases booked during state bifurcation to be lifted
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the state government has decided to withdraw the pending cases registered on the protesters during the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He announced it in the Assembly on Monday during a short duration discussion on implementation of AP Reorganisation Act.
Chandrababu Naidu has stated that at that time police lodged cases against the protesters who agitated in support of united AP. He said that the state government will lift all the cases, except the cases involved in violence. The government will come with modalities and guidelines on it, shortly.
Chandrababu Naidu directed the Home department officials to examine the issue to withdraw the pending cases, especially on the youth. In fact, this was a long pending demand from various sections of people in the state. The cases were booked before 2014 and till date, people against whom the cases were booked are facing problems.
