MLCs visit capital city works amidst rain

Amaravati: The Members of Legislative Council visited Amaravati capital city works to see the development of infrastructure on Monday after the conclusion of the proceedings in the House.

The MLCs initially proceeded to the site in three buses. However, as soon as they reached the All India Services officials residential buildings at Rayapudi, the rain started. Since the entire soil was black cotton and it retains moisture, the buses and other vehicles also found it very hard to move.

Then majority of the MLCs returned from the trip on their own vehicles, except a few members including TD Janardhan and M Satyanarayana Raju. Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P Narayana explained to the MLCs and other leaders about the development works taking place in regard to the capital city construction.

The MLAs were also supposed to accompany the MLCs. However, they could not take part in the visit as a discussion was in progress in the Legislative Assembly on the AP Reorganisation Act.
