Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant bags two VRP awards
Visakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited- Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL-VSP) came out with flying colours by bagging two Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar (VRP) awards for innovative suggestions implemented in the plant. Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Union Minister of State, Labour and Employment (independent charge), presented the awards at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi recently.
P Raychaudhury, CMD, RINL congratulated the employees for the achievement and said that with a persistent march towards excellence, VSP has once again bagged VRP awards. He also said that VSP employees have always been known for innovation in improving the working methods and in bringing laurels to the organisation.
The two VRP awards were presented for innovative suggestions and the award carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000. As many as nine employees had been involved in the implementation of two innovative suggestions. The winning employees are Veera Lingam T, Sitaramaiah M U, Ramana V, Sriramulu B, Daya Sagar N, Pattabhi Ramanna R, Maharana J, Viswa Prasad T, and P Subba Rao.
A S V Gopala Rao, AGM from SMS, D Srinivas, Manager, ES and F departments have played a key role in the implementation of these suggestions. Abhijit Chakrabarti, HoD, SMS and V K Verma, Manager (MS) have also the function as company representatives.
The VRP is a National Award Scheme instituted by Ministry of Labor and Employment, for the workmen in industries. It recognises and rewards the workers and supervisors every year, for their innovative suggestions resulting in higher efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and working conditions, house-keeping and import substitution at the enterprise level.
