Legislative Council to discuss Contributory Provident Fund policy today

Amaravati: The issue related to Contributory Provident Fund (CPF) policy likely to be taken for discussion on Wednesday in Legislative Council. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held an important meeting with Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao and K Atchannaidu, along with the officials from Finance and Law department regarding CPF policy, on Tuesday at his chamber in Assembly.

The officials explained about the status of CPF in various states including Telangana, Tamil Nadu and others. The issue will be taken up for  discussion in the Legislative Council on Wednesday. 

The officials explained that the Kerala state did not take any action on it. Whereas the Telangana government remained with mere statement and did not take any action. Tamil Nadu government constituted a committee to study the pros and cons involved in it. 

Meanwhile, the PDF MLCs demanded for discussion on the CPF policy in the Council on Tuesday. Since the Council Chairman Farooq did not accept for discussion. On the other hand, Atchannaidu and Home Minister N Chinarajappa said that the issue will be discussed on Wednesday.
