MIM MLA in the dock for mishandling of minor rape issue
In a damage control mode, Asaduddin along with victim’s father meets Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar
Hyderabad: A video of MIM’s most vocal critic Osman Al-Hajri went viral and continued to be in circulation in social media over handling of the 4-year-old school girl’s rape issue by the local Tolichowki MLA.
Before the episode could snowball into a major political trouble for MIM, it is believed that the party chief and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi intervened and met the city Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar along with girl’s father ‘seeking justice’ on Monday.
In the video-clip being shared over social media, the former TDP leader and president of Deccan Wakf Properties Protection Society is seen strongly criticising the way victim’s father was brought in front of cameras and was asked to regret for anti-MIM slogans allegedly raised during the protest in front of the school.
“Why are you pressurising the victim’s father to apologize. He had vented his anger unable to cope up with the revelation. How could you make him apologise, rather than standing for him?” he questioned.
Osman Al-Hajri alleged that the father of victim was forced to apologise at a press conference organised by the MLA, two days after the incident took place.
In the press conference, he was asked to express gratitude towards the party. “I apologise the party chief over my utterances,” he was seen repeating the words pronounced by some other person.
The MLA in the video is seen dictating the sentences asking the father to recount it on cameras.
The video went viral on social media inviting wrath of the public who said it degraded the morals.
It is said that the MLA was agitated after few persons raised slogans against the party and local leadership during a protest held to condemn sexual assault on a minor girl in the premises of Azaan International School at Tolichowki on Friday.
Meanwhile, former corporator and Congress leader Md Ghouse questioned Asaduddin as to why it took almost 72 hours to react to the issue.
He ridiculed that the leader who tweets for each and every incident which happens throughout India was silent for almost 3 days.
He also condemned the way local MLA handled the situation, undermining the sensitivity of the situation.
“The party leadership’s arrogance of power has forced the victim’s father to apologize and now they have managed the issue with whatever at their disposal,” he said.
Even though the incident took place on Friday, MIM party chief along with the victim’s family met Anjani Kumar and asked the police to book case against the management of the school on Monday.
