17K students expected for Jnana Bheri in Vijayawada today

Vijayawada: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the successful conduct of Jnana Bheri-3 programme at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation stadium here on Thursday. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will interact with the students at 2.30 pm on the occasion and awards will be presented to merit students by the education department.  

Krishna University, Machilipatnam, is organising the Jnana Bheri, in which over 17,000 students will take part in the day-long event from 10 am to 5 pm. Besides, 771 faculty members from 110 educational institutions will attend the programme aimed at enhancing the knowledge of students and to give moral boosting.  Arrangements are underway for distribution of 18,000 food packets and water bottles to participants.

Human Resources Development Minister Ganta SrinivasaRao inspected the arrangements along with the officials at the IGMC stadium on Wednesdaynight. Speaking to media, Ganta Srinivasa Raosaid that earlier, the JnanaBheri was organised in Tirupati in Vizag on August 4 and 23 respectively. He said certificates would be issued to 39 students in 13 different categories.

The organisers installed 60 stalls to unlock the talent of students. Chairman of Higher Education Council, Professor Vijaya Raju, Vice-Chairmen Narasimha Rao and KoteswaraRao and Krishna University Vice-Chancellor Prof Ramakrishna Rao are monitoring the arrangements.  In view of the programme, 1,000 police personnel will be posted as security at the IGMC stadium.
