Advocates to boycot courts today
Vijayawada: In response to the call given by the Andhra Pradesh Advocates Federation, the advocates across the state would boycott the judicial courts on Thursday in protest against the decision of the Supreme Court restraining the advocates from boycotting or abstaining from work in judicial courts, said Ch Manmadha Rao, founder member of Andhra Pradesh Advocates Federation and the convener of the Joint Action Committee, here on Wednesday.
He said that the boycotting and/or abstention from work are the rights of the advocates when they felt there was injustice to their profession. “It is nothing but encroaching upon the rights of the advocates,” he added.
The Krishna District Bar Associations Federation and the Bezwada Bar Association jointly announced here on Wednesday that they would abstain from the work in the judicial courts on Thursday as a part of the protest of the advocates across the state.
