All-India drug traders bandh on Sept 28
Vijayawada: All the medical shops across the country will remain closed on September 28 in protest against the Central government as it was favoring online sale of medicines, said Krishna District Wholesale Drug Trade Association president CC Keshava Rao here on Wednesday. He, along with other association members, released a wall poster in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, Keshava Rao said that the youth will be accessible to medicines which will be sold on specific prescription only and would lead to serious consequences. He said that there was no guarantee about the quality of the medicines, and availability of life saving drugs will fall.
He said the livelihood of eight lakh drug traders was at stake due to introduction of online medicines sale. All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) Seemandra Drug Dealers Association (SDDA) members would organise the bandh, he added.Krishna District Wholesale Association secretary K Muralikrishna and others were present.
