Vijayawada: Sarita, assistant engineer of AP Pollution Control Board, appealed to people to change their lifestyle keeping in view the changes in the environment.  She distributed prizes to the winners of painting competitions on global warming organised by the Gora Science Centre here on Wednesday.

Addressing a gathering, Sarita said that the people should recognise the importance of ozone layer and put in efforts to control greenhouse gases which have been damaging it.

Earlier, G Niyanta, director of Gora Science Centre, said that excessive human interference has been damaging the environment across the world. “Everyday humans have been dumping plastic garbage in the sea due to which sea creatures have been dying,” he said.

He said that it was our responsibility to protect the environment by minimising the plastic use. Dr Vijayam, Dr Samaram, Dr Maru, Nau, Dr Subha Gora and others were present.
