State-level Nandi awards function on Sep 30 at Eluru

Eluru: The state government will be organising state-level function to present 21st Nandi awards for plays here on September 30.

Announcing this at a press conference, Assistant Director of Information department K Subhashini said that the event would be held at Sri Convention Hall at 5 pm. 

It would be a moment of pride for people of the district which is hosting the state-level event.  

She informed that the state government had organised play competitions in five categories for giving Nandi awards for the year 2017. 

A total of 360 plays were conducted at Tenali, Rajamahendravaram, Kakinada, Kurnool and Nandyal. 

Out of them, as many as 72 plays had been selected for giving Nandi awards.

Apart from Nandi awards, Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao stage award for 2017 district would also be presented. 

Similarly, state-level and district-level Kandukuri awards for the year 2018 would also be presented at the same venue. 

About 300 artistes and technicians would receive prizes at the awards presentation function, she added.
