Update: 2018-09-21 05:30 IST

Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that the rule of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah was similar to the days of emergency where rights of the people were suppressed.

He participated in Grama Darsini at Pidathapolur on Thursday and pointed out that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had taken part in Babili protest eight years and now he received non-bailable warrant from the court which indicates working style of the BJP leaders.

He alleged that Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi colluded on the issue as part of their vindictive tactics against Naidu.

He pointed out that Special Status to the State, new railway zone and Dugarajapatnam ports were denied. He said Chandrababu Naidu was the only person who revolted against the Prime Minister expressing his dissent clearly against the dictatorship of Modi in the country.

He said the Chief Minister had visited Delhi for four years for implementation of assurances made as part of AP Reorganisation Act but there was no use at all.

The Minister also criticised Prime Minister Modi for denying appointment to the Chief Minister. But the Prime Minister had a talk with Opposition leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy who was involved in 12 criminal cases for 45 minutes.

He alleged that the BJP-led Union government was ignoring development of the State only due to the political rivalry with Chandrababu Naidu. Even though the Centre was not extending support to the State, the Chief Minister Naidu has been allocating the required funds for various sectors and completed Pattiseema Project in a record time of 8 months, Somireddy said.

He said that it was only because of Naidu they had brought 40 tmcft of water from Krishna to Nellore for irrigation needs. Jealous YSR Congress leaders in the district have also been criticising the ruling TDP for each and every thing in the district, he said. He also said that the State government had focused on welfare of Muslim minorities. The Minister participated in various development programmes in the village.
