North Coastal AP escaped from the cyclone threat

Visakhapatnam: The north coastal Andhra Pradesh escaped from the cyclone threat after the cyclonic storm ‘Daye’ weakened into a deep depression on Friday. The lay centred over south interior Odisha and neighbourhood near about 65-KM east-southeast of Titlagargh in Odisha.

The yesterday’s deep depression intensified into a cyclonic storm and was named ‘Daye.’ The system is likely to weaken further and presently moving west-north-westwards.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy falls with extremely heavy falls at isolated places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next 24-hours. Rainfall at most places with heavy falls at isolated places

Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely along and off North Coastal Andhra Pradesh till Friday night, alerted by IMD. Minor damages have predicted to loose and unsecured structures. The IMD also alerted the state government that rainfall at many places in the north coastal places during September 22 and 23 also.

The state of the sea is still rough over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

FLOOD THREAT TO SRIKAKULAM:

As the catchment areas of Vamsadhara and Nagavali rivers receiving heavy rains, the down streams of both rivers facing flood threat in the next two days. With the monsoon impact already the catchment area receiving good rains. Under the influence of the cyclonic storm ‘Daya,’ heavy falls being registered at both catchment areas of the rivers.

Meanwhile, rainfall at most places predicted with heavy falls at isolate places several parts of Telangana State. The rains will continue with extremely heavy falls at isolated places on September 22 in Telangana State, the IMD alerted.
