Football competitions begin in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: CBSE South Zone Girls Football Championship competitions were kicked off in the premises of Sri Prakash Niketan with pomp and fervor here on Friday.

Inaugurating the football championship competitions, city MLA and district football association president Dr Akula Satyanarayana said that competition should confine only to playgrounds but not outside.

The sports meets help to increase competitive spirit and victory and defeat are common in the meets, he said.

The players who were defeated should put their efforts to get success in other matches.

He congratulated the football players who came from various states.

He complimented Sri Prakash Niketan management for conducting the meet and asked to continue the same spirit in future also.

Indian former football player and Dronacharya awardee Sayyed Shahid Hakim advised the parents to encourage their children in sports and games. 

Sports and games were part and parcel of education and asked the students to spend some time everyday in playground.

Sri Prakash Educational Group assistant secretary Ch Vijay Prakash said that about 500 football players from the states of Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharastra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry and Andaman Niocobar Islands were participating in the championship competitions.

The competitions were being held in the categories of under 17 and under 19 in which 19 teams each were participating. Necessary facilities were provided to the players, he added.
