Ongole: The Students Federation of India proposed to organise a bandh of schools and colleges in the state on September 25, alleging that the government has failed in addressing the issues of students from LKG to PG courses.

The president and secretary of the Prakasam district committee of SFI, K Chinnapareddy and Ch Vinod said in a press meet held at Ongole on Friday said that they were demanding that the government establish IIIT, mining, veterinary and general universities in the district, release the pending scholarships and fees reimbursement, extend midday meals to aided colleges and implement it perfectly, increase the cosmetic and mess charges.

Construct own buildings for hostels, distribute books and uniforms to high school children, provide drinking water and toilets in the schools, conduct mega supplementary for degree students,  announce the Prakasam district as drought-hit and offer concessions in exam fees and bus pass charges and shut down the corporate educational institutions that were not following the rules and regulations of the government.

They requested the students, schools and colleges in the district to cooperate with them.
