IISER faculty nominated as DAAD Research Ambassador

Tirupati: Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (German academic exchange service), headquartered in Bonn, Germany is the largest funding organisation, which provides an international academic/scientific co-operation platform has nominated DAAD Research Ambassadors to promote scientific cooperation and exchange between countries. 

During the meeting held in New Delhi on Friday, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Dr Vasudharani Devanathan was felicitated with DAAD Research Ambassador for a period of two years by the Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr Jasper Wieck. 
With its extensive network of research ambassadors spread over South Asian countries like India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka, DAAD aims to strengthen the scientific cooperation between Germany and the above-mentioned countries. 

Senior academicians and scientists who have a long-standing relationship with Germany were nominated as research ambassadors, who would help enthuse and inform others about the variety of opportunities like educational scholarships, research funding and collaborative projects with German counterparts.
