Madakasira (Anantapur): APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the light of fresh revelation by former president of France Holande that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had preferred awarding of Rafale Defence contract to Reliance firm ignoring the highly experienced HAL, public sector company.

Addressing the 113th birth anniversary celebration meeting of freedom fighter Rami Reddy at Neelakantapuram village in Madakasira Mandal in Anantapur district on Saturday, Raghuveera said that the Prime Minister had landed the security of the country in jeopardy by recommending the awarding of contract to Reliance firm, a novice in the defense equipment manufacturing field. He said that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) had been in the business for many years and serving the country with dedication.

This is a major scandal of Modi government. He should step down as he is an accused in the multi-crore fraud, the PCC chief said. The Prime Minister should order for a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the deal and also resign from his post for carrying out a free and fair probe.
