New compactor bins to replace open type bins in kakinada
Kakinada: The Kakinada Smart City Municipal Corporation, as part of provision of better sanitation, has introduced compactor bins system. These bins which are ‘closed type’ are expected to replace open system of garbage bins.
According to municipal health officer Dr Y Ananta Kumar, these compactor bins would have geo-tag system which provides signal after it was filled completely.
Basing on this geo-tag system, the concerned would collect the garbage from the bin and replace it at the same place. This process is expected to bring down the work pressure on sanitation staff.
The MHO informed that out of total 210, as many as 32 bins arrived in the first phase two days ago.
“We are expecting the remaing in the next two weeks. We have started placing these bins after selection of the place,” the official revealed.
