Adala declares Bollineni as Atmakur candidate!

Update: 2018-09-25 05:30 IST

Nellore: Though it sounds odd, ruling party leader and Atmakur constituency in-charge Adala Prabhakar Reddy informed the gathering in Atmakur on Monday that former MLA Bollineni Krishnaiah would become Minister if he is elected from the constituency as he is having to good rapport with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Local party cadre wondered how a leader is being declared as candidate for Minister post much before winning the polls, especially in TDP.

Krishnaiah, who won the polls in 1999, from the Congress and there was no clarity on whether he had joined the ruling party or not. But, he has been aiming to contest from the ruling party and has been maintaining good relations with the party in-charge Adala Prabhakar Reddy for some time.

Bollineni Krishnaiah is chairman of popular KIMS Hospitals and also a popular contractor. Now, he is showing interest on the constituency as Adala Prabhakar Reddy requested him to contest from the place considering local caste equations.

“Krishnaiah has good relations with the Chief Minister and can achieve good progress in the constituency. We both met the Chief Minister and requested him to sanction 1,000 houses, and also do favour to AS Pet Dargah for including in the plans of tourism development in the district. He is the right person to be in the fray from the constituency and support him in the coming elections,” Adala said.

In fact, M Goutham Reddy, son of MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, is the sitting MLA from the constituency and there were many twists recently. Ramanarayana eyed on the place from the ruling party and finally shifted his loyalties to the opposition and would be contesting from Venkatagiri. After Ramanaryana joined the YSRCP, Goutham Reddy has been insisting for the seat.

Currently, there is no competition from others in the region and now Krishnaiah is active after a huge lull. Further, ZP Chairman B Raghavendra Reddy is also from the same place and his father was a three-time MLA. Raghavendra had quit the opposition and rumours are doing rounds that he would join the ruling party shortly as Adala Prabhakar Reddy and others met him after resignation to the YSRCP.
