Chandrababu Naidu to launch many works
Anantapur: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu would be laying foundation stone for the construction of an indoor stadium, a boy’s hostel, a skill development centre and an examination block extension building on October 1st in connection with his Gnana Bheri programme where he would be interacting with 2,000 students.
The executive council of JNTUA has approved all the developmental works worth Rs 100 crore. JNTUA Registrar Prof S Krishnaiah told The Hans India, the university administrative blocks, integrated lecture hall buildings and the Yoga and Gymnasium buildings had been completed, as part of the Rs 100 crore university development initiative.
Infrastructure is also being developed in university engineering colleges in Kalikiri in Chittoor district and at Pulivendla in Kadapa district. The JNTU engineering college buildings had has been constructed with Rs 360 crore. The university has 110 colleges spread in five districts of Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur.
It also has 35 pharmacy colleges and 35 MBA colleges in the 5 districts. Krishnaiah said that the university colleges have regular interface with the industry and its curriculum is being upgraded to suit the changing times and technology. Responding to a question, he said that an M Tech course in non-conventional energy has been introduced in the local university engineering college.
A state-of-the art auditorium has been recently inaugurated. An excellent facelift is also given to the JNTUA campus with decent internal roads and massive tree plantation.
JNTU Vice-Chancellor Prof S Srinivas Kumar is pulling all strings to develop the university which has a history of 72 years, on all fronts. The hallmark of the seven-decade old university is quality teaching faculty, adherence to academic schedules and examinations and timely disbursal of marks list and academic degrees.
