NSS enables students to become aware of social service: Registrar

Anantapur: The NSS Day and NSS Day Golden Jubilee Year 2018-19 were inaugurated on Monday at JNTU Engineering College here. According to NSS Programme Coordinator Prof M L S Devakumar, JNTU Registrar Prof S Krishnaiah, the chief guest, lit the traditional lamp. 

Addressing the gathering, he observed that students can become more aware of society and social service by participating in NSS programmes. The registrar advised NSS volunteers to discharge their responsibilities effectively and strive to become ideal citizens.

He called upon them to be in forefront for taking up relief work during natural calamities and use technology properly only when it is required. The registrar stated that efforts were on to conduct the State-level Youth Parliament and State-level Youth Festival in JNTU-A.

Among those present were NSS Officer P Ramachandra Rao, NSS Regional Director R Gokula Krishna, NSS Training Officer S M D Paul, NSS Programme Officers Dr T Narayana Reddy, Dr K Jithendra Goud, M Ramasekhar Reddy and NSS volunteers from various colleges.
