Casting vote is a basic responsibility, says RDO Satyaveni at ANR College in Gudivada
Gudivada: All the youth who attained 18 years of age should enrol themselves as voters, said RDO GV Satyavani.
She presided over the programme on Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), an awareness programme organised on the college premises on Tuesday.
Addressing the students, she said that casting vote in a democratic country was the basic social responsibility of the citizens.
The youth are the backbone of the country's future and in the democratic system the people have the choice to elect their leader for the good governance.
She said that the students should educate others on significance of vote. She said that special voter enrollment programme would be held and everyone should utilise this opportunity.
She said that the youth who had not enrolled them as voters can obtain form-VI on the college premises. They can also apply online by visiting www.ceoandhra.nic.in, www.nvsp.in.
The college principal, P Rajashekar, Election deputy Tahisldar Prasad, the college president Dr Venkataramana, Jhansi, Anandababu and students were present.
