Walk to create awareness on safe touch and unsafe touch

Visakhapatnam: RVS Rudraraju, Chairman, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Andhra Pradesh, and Director, RHI Clasil Limited, flagged off 555-km relay walk from Visakhapatnam to Amaravati here on Tuesday. The walk will be concluded on September 30. The objective of the relay walk is to create awareness among the schoolchildren on ‘Safe touch and unsafe touch’ as a part of the project Masoom initiated by CII Young Indians (Yi).

The objective of Yi - project Masoom is to create awareness among the schoolchildren  on various forms of child abuse (physical, verbal or visual), making them aware about the concept of safe and unsafe touch, giving them necessary knowledge and education  which could help them in their personal safety from such abuse at home, school or outside.

In all, 55 members participating in a six-day relay walk and each member will walk for 10 km. The walkers will also cover 100 schools on way and will educate 10,000 students about safe and unsafe touch and communities en route to Amaravati. KVT Ramesh, Chair, Young Indians (Visakhapatnam Chapter), along with CII Yi members, were present.
